25 Aug Mervue Equine Leinster Tour Final
Following eight competitive rounds, the Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tours will come to a conclusion at the Irish Breeders Classic on the weekend of the 26th -28 thAugust. With a total of €13,000 of prize money on offer for the final day between the three divisions (1.10m, 1.20 and 1.35m), the finals promise to be nail biting affair withmany riders battling it out to be crowned the Mervue Leinster Summer Tour 2021 Champions.
It’s still a very close competition in the 1.35m, with little separating the leader board placings. A familiar face in the winner’s enclosure in Barnadown, current leader inthe 1.35m section, Francis Connors will have his eye on the title, after he clocked up 27 points with Rossa Lough Derg. There is little between the current standings, asMeath’s Ger Clarke and Lupins Lux Z has clocked up 25 points. Currently sharing third place is John Floody (Donevan Erkindale) and Paul Carberry (BrandownviewFirst Edition), both on 19 points. The reigning National Grand Prix Champion Derek McConnell is also in the running has he has clocked up 19 points with Izzy.
In the 1.20m, the situation is similar with Deirdre Doyle currently in the lead with BLM Authentic Diamond on 14, points, followed by Gerard Clarke and Cyruso H on 12points. Aoife Healion (Equita) and Gerard Curtain (Walking in Paris) both have clocked up 11 points.
In the 1.10m division, Aileen Mc Dermott has a commanding lead as she has clocked up 22 points with Amber Balou. Aoife Healion and Equita also feature in this leaderboard on 14 points, followed by Robyn Moran and European Cruise on 12points.
