24 Sep Leinster riders in the ribbons in Lanaken
Leinster rider make their presence felt in the first day of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship.
In the six-year -old qualifier, 257 combinations battled it out in the first qualifier, Max o’ Reilly Hyland and BP Limitless took the win when clear in 27.04. No shortage of experience, Kilkenny’s Ger O’ Neill and Far West de Hus finished 10th when clear in 27.90. Another former winner at the Championship’s Kilkenny’s Seamus Hughes Kennedy and Esi Ali, also delivered a clear in 29.86, as did Nichlos Butler and Nala NBS in 31.20. Kilkenny’s Vincent Byrne answered all the questions with CBI Bella Donna in 32.42. Wexford’s Abigail Boland proved out of luck when she had one on the ground with BP Fandango as did Derek McConnell and Inlaws Manolo.
Mikey Pender and GCS Athena finished fourth in the seven-year-old qualifier in the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship. The pairing delivered a clear in 28.78. Alexander Butler and Conquida de Revel PS finished in 13th, when clear in 30.12. Max O’Reilly Hyland and Aconzina PS, were also clear in 31.39 and finished just outside the top 30.
In the five-year-olds, a number of Leinster riders shared the win when they delivered clears. Those combinations included Susan Fitzpatrick and Keatingstown Leia, Linda Moloney and Kylemore Lady, Stephen Murphy and She’s Got it, Ger O’ Neill Acapella Van Overis Z, Jason Foley and Killossery Karma, Mikey Pender and HHS Tokyo and Serena vd Berghoeve Z, Sophie Richards and Pablo C.
Day 2
Following a win in the first qualifier, Max O’ Reilly Hyland and BP Limitless took ninth place in In the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship final for horses six-year-olds second qualifier today, when he delivered a clear in 65.24 seconds. Also delivering a clear round was Meath rider Nicholas Butler and Nala NBS in 68.49 for 22nd place. Wicklow breeder John Mulvey had much to be proud of as Joanne Blair partnered Tranquility Bay to a clear win in 68.67. Kilkenny’s Ger O’ Neill answered all the questions with Far West de Hus in 69.10, which saw him finish in the top 30. Carlow’s Jason Foley was also placed when he delivered a clear with Calvador Z in 70.43.
In the five-year-olds, Leinster riders also delivered the goods.Jason Foley delivered clears with Killossery Kara and Boleybawn Evie to share the win, as did Ger O’ Neill (Acapella Van Overis Z) , Stephen Murphy and Shes Got it , Molly Hughes Bravo (HHS India) and Linda Moloney and Kylemore Lady.
