13 Jun Leinster riders in the ribbons in Hughes Horse Stud Annual Show
The Hughes Horse Stud Annual Show got underway on Friday with the **Carl Webb 1.15m class**, drawing a strong field of 77 starters. Leading the way was **Taylor Cummins**, who claimed victory aboard *Madame Gazelle* with a double clear in 31.38 seconds. Cummins also earned a share of the €500 prize fund by finishing fifth on *Oscar Van De Zeiloek*, a six-year-old owned by Kilcreene Enterprise, stopping the clock clear in 33.22.
**Feaha Moore** had a successful outing, taking third place with *Captain Luis Magic Touch* (32.58) and sixth with *Wrenwood Khaleesi* (33.94). **Junior rider Kate Walsh** also impressed, slotting into fourth with *Redshire Molly*, finishing clear in 32.60.
**Carr & Day & Martin 1.15m Five-Year-Old Class**
This competitive young horse class offered a €1,000 prize fund and drew 54 declared combinations, with 23 delivering double clears. The win stayed local, with **Max Foley** guiding the Marion Hughes-owned and bred *HHS Colorado* to victory in 33.51 seconds.
**Jackilynn Breslin** and *Phileine Ve* took fourth with a time of 35.92. Bred by J. Harke, this mare is by *Comthago* out of *Akili* (Guidam). Close behind in fifth was **Isabel Fitzpatrick** on *Emcisco*, bred by Brendan Doyle and by *Emerald Van’T Ruytershof* out of *Angelina Baby*, finishing in 36.19.
**Castlefield Breeding Farm 1.25m Class**
A strong field of 87 combinations lined out for this two-phase competition. Continuing her recent good form, **Emily Moloney** claimed the top spot riding Ian Smyth’s *Cruising on the Ridge*, producing a clear in a swift 27.42.
**Hallie Crowe** placed third with her own *Nikita* in 28.04, while **Tadhg Beecher** took fourth aboard *Loughnatousa Gilbert*, also clear in 28.09.
**Foran Equine 1.25m Six-Year-Old Class**
This €1,000 class proved fruitful for **Jack Ryan**, who secured both first and third places. Riding the Northlawn-owned *Tarthagobreaker-M*, Ryan delivered the winning round in 27.47, and added a third aboard *N-Conthagirl D.S*, owned by Susan Fitzpatrick, in 28.49.
**Brendan Murphy** and *Osh Shirsheen* split Ryan’s placings, taking second with a clear in 28.42. **Max Foley** continued his consistent form, finishing fourth with *HHS Miss B*, owned and bred by Marion Hughes, in 28.95.
Junior rider **Launa McCann** claimed fifth with *Bellcross Candy Lady* (30.01), while **Leah Stack** rounded out the top six on *Rosconnell Tango*, owned by Keith Ennis and bred by Mairead Lacey (Tyson x CSF Sophie), clocking a clear in 30.70.
