
25 Jul Jag Equestrian Hosts Competitive Round of Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour
Jag Equestrian welcomed a strong turnout last Sunday as it hosted a round of the Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour, drawing impressive entries across all levels.
1.35m Division
Leinster junior rider Bríd Ryan claimed victory in the 1.35m class with GCS Jasmine, producing the fastest of just two double clears in 46.25 seconds. The talented seven-year-old mare—by Cardento out of the Plot Blue mare MHS Revover—was bred by Olivia Brennan and previously placed fourth in the 1.35m Grand Prix at Ballyfoyle Agriculture Show.
Local contender Edward Doyle Jr secured second aboard his own homebred PHS Livin It Up, also jumping double clear in 49.73 seconds.
In third was Sven Hadley with Quantino, owned by Flaminia Straumann, who posted the fastest four-fault round in 42.86.
Fourth place went to Liam O’Meara and Cevann, also finishing on four faults in 43.44.
Bríd Ryan returned to the placings with a fifth-place finish aboard Ne Touche Pas Van De Rostal, clocking 43.47 with one down.
Completing the top six was Sven Hadley again, this time riding the promising seven-year-old Maximum Numero Too HSH, who had two fences down in a quick 41.60.
1.20m Division
Victory in the 1.20m went to Sven Hadley aboard the eight-year-old Make It Easy HSH, with a flawless double clear in 34.17.
Cian Byrne and six-year-old Larina Cruise claimed second place and the leading young rider title with a clear in 35.85.
Eva Melly and Wolf Vegas took third after a smooth round in 39.58, just ahead of Daniel Ring and Kilkern Quality, who finished in 39.95.
Fifth place went to Patrick Doyle and Longhill Cruising, who kept all poles intact in 41.01, while Laura Walshe (AA) rounded out the top six with a clear in 42.30.
1.10m Division
Amateur rider Lisa Doyle (AA) took top honours in the 1.10m class, piloting Ballinaguilkey Dignified to a clear in 29.48.
Sara Pothmann Cullen and Diamond Timbit followed closely, finishing clear in 32.36 for second.
In third was Caoimhe Treacy, who also picked up the young rider prize aboard the six-year-old HZ Difo, stopping the clock at 33.02.
Fourth place went to young rider Jazmine Arthur and Ballyknock OBOS Hollywood, clear in 33.39, while Brona Keane, a regular in the placings, finished fifth with Krafty Krackers in 34.14.
Patrick Doyle rounded out the placings once again, taking sixth aboard the five-year-old Kitkat BW, with a clear in 36.91.
The day showcased not only top talent from across Leinster but also exciting up-and-coming partnerships across the divisions.
