Just 16 combinations contested the €1,000 Mullingar Equestrian Autumn Grand Prix last Saturday, with six double clears emerging from the seven-way jump-off. Nicola Fitzgibbon and the eight-year-old Gracefield Apollo stole the spotlight, taking victory in a blistering 28.08 seconds. Hot on their heels was Robert Splaine aboard Laranco, finishing in 28.26, while Katie Nallon and the eight-year-old MVS Celtic Emperor claimed third in 29.38.
Westmeath’s Lauren Murphy and Coco Du Rona followed closely, clocking 29.75 to secure fourth, just fractions behind. Resident rider Alanna Fagan delivered a polished round with Billy Hastings to take fifth in 30.60, while the final double clear went to Darryl Walker on Scott 49, stopping the clock at 32.14 for sixth place.”**
