Leinster riders feature strong in the young horses classes in the RDS
Taking home the eight-and nine year-old Championships was Carlow’s Jason Foley. Foley was riding the Ronan Rothwell owned D’Amour du Nenuphar and was the only double clear in 53.28. Kildare’s Mikey Pender took second place with MHS Cardenta, when fastest of the four faulters in 44.21. Kilkenny rider Eddie Moloney took third place with Temple Alice , when they had one down in 46.57. Taking fifth place was Ger O’ Neill and Curra Paco, four faults in 49.80. In the seven-year-old’s Kevin Gallagher took the win aboard Dr Noel Cawley’s Emerald Mystique, when clear in 38.19. Third place was claimed by Jason Foley and MHS Im the one, when fastest of the four faulters in 41.72. Carlow rider David Moran took sixth place with Bring Out The Barley, eight faults in 38.91.
.Winner of the 6 Year old “Cruising Championship was Kilkenny’s Vincent Byrne when he partnered CBI Bella Donna to a clear in 38.91. Third place was filled by Jason Higgins and the Meabh Bolger owned Heritage MBF. Partnered by Higgins they crossed the line clear in 39.96, ahead of Capt Charlene Kehoe and DHF Alliance, clear in 43.59.
On Saturday, Meabh Bolder and MBF Celtic Claddagh took the Four Year Old “Mo Chroi, when they were awarded 83.25. Wicklow rider Michael Daly and Boleybawn Alton took second place on a score of 81.50, ahead of Sophie Richards and Make Me Happy on a score of 81. Vincent Byrne and GCS Venus took fourth on a score of 80.25, while Wicklow rider Beth Burton took fifth place with Ardnore Knockout on a score of 79.50. Vincent Byrne was back in the line up, taking sixth with Sumas Knockout, on a score of 78.25
