08 Apr All roads lead to Mullingar on Saturday & Warrington on Sunday for the Connolly’s RED MILLS Spring Tour
Mullingar will host Saturday’s leg of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Spring Tour with fantastic entries. All the riders in contention for prize money are entered in this leg of the tour. John Floody in top position at the moment with Liam O’Meara just behind.
In the Young Horse section, Offaly Young Rider is at the moment in the lead position with a number of riders close behind. In this section, which is sponsored by Castlefield Sporthorses, double clears are all that matter and it is for 7 & 8 year old horse in preparation for the long, challenging outdoor season which will start at Louth County Show at the end of April.
Pro am section is gaining momentum with riders who are busy all week working in different professions, enjoying the challenge of 1.35 class along side the professional at the week end. This prize awards the top Pro am rider for their efforts in the competition and does not in anyway interfere with their chances of winning the overall prize.
Young riders are all preparing for the season ahead with Millstreet hosting 2016 Young Rider’s European Championships. It is a busy year for the riders and their family and it was brilliant to see Shake It and Mikey Pender placed second last week end in Barnadown in their leg of the Tour.
Sunday – Warrington plays host to the second last leg of the Tour with great entries. The Moloney Family will be busy keeping the show running to get through such excellent entries on the day.
