The Murphy Dynasty

Henry Bateman was honored on the night for all his hard work and dedication to Showjumping, his role in encouraging newcomers to enjoy their sport, especially the Glencarraig Lady League.

Henry’s love affair with horses started at home in Co Cork. He developed a strong allegiance with Showjumping when he came to Joe McGrath’s farm on the Curragh followed by his time with Van Lanagin’s yard early in the sixties. Riding for Van Lanagin at the time was John McAuley and Francie Kerins on some of the best horses of their time.

The Leinster Region wishes to congratulate Henry on his award, thank him for all his hard work and wish him well on his retirement from the Leinster Region Committee.
